PRIVACY POLICY
LAST UPDATED · 6 AUGUST 2026
This policy explains what personal information is collected when you use this website, why it is collected, and the choices you have. It is written to align with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where applicable, the EU/UK GDPR.
Who we are
This site is operated by Don Sahand, trading as DON!, a music producer and mixing and mastering engineer based in Sydney, Australia. For any privacy question, contact contact@donsahand.com.
Information we collect
- Enquiry details — your name, email address, project details and anything else you choose to include when you contact us.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and pages viewed, logged automatically by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
- Embedded media data — Spotify players load automatically on relevant pages, so Spotify may receive your IP address and set its own cookies as soon as you visit those pages.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16, and we do not collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act.
How we use it
Enquiry details are used solely to respond to you, quote on work, and deliver services you request. Technical data is used to keep the site secure, diagnose faults and understand aggregate traffic. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: your consent (enquiries and optional media embeds), performance of a contract (delivering agreed services), and legitimate interests (site security and basic analytics).
Sharing and third parties
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the site and our business — website hosting, email delivery and, where you opt in, embedded Spotify players. These providers may process data outside Australia. We share information with law enforcement only where required by law.
Retention
Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as needed to service the relationship and meet record-keeping obligations, typically up to seven years for anything with a commercial or tax dimension, then deleted. Server logs are retained for a short period for security purposes.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Email contact@donsahand.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or your local supervisory authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to enquiry correspondence is restricted. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for details on cookies and similar technologies.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
